Everede Small Boring Bar Set
Everede Small Boring Bar Set
When you're working in the world of small bores, there’s zero room for error—or oversized tools. That’s why Everede’s Small Boring Bars have become a go-to for machinists tackling precision jobs on Swiss machines and compact CNC lathes. These bars are engineered for tight spaces, light cuts, and ultra-accurate results.

Small but Mighty
Everede’s small boring bars start at just 0.125" (1/8”) diameter and go up to 0.312", covering a wide range of micro-machining operations. Need to bore a hole barely wider than a matchstick? No problem. Offered in both steel and solid carbide shank options, they’re designed to handle different materials and machining environments.
  • Steel Bars: Ideal for lower-speed or light-duty applications where flexibility can be a benefit.
  • Carbide Bars: The preferred choice for improved rigidity, vibration resistance, and longer tool life—especially in longer-reach applications.

More Options Than You’d Expect
This isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. Everede offers a wide range of bar diameters, overhang lengths, and insert styles to fit just about any small-part boring application. From internal profiling to facing and grooving, there’s a configuration for your specific job.

Versatile Insert Compatibility: Insert Styles That Work With You
The small boring bar line uses industry-standard inserts like CCMT, DCMT, and TPMT, which makes tool replacement easy and inventory more manageable. As an example, bars use common insert styles like TPMT 1.51, 2.52, and 3.52—so you’re not locked into proprietary tooling. That means easier sourcing, less inventory cost, and more flexibility at the spindle. These inserts handle everything from boring and facing to light profiling. Plus, with Everede’s known reliability, you’re getting consistent performance across the board.

Why It Matters
If you’re running tight-tolerance work in aerospace, medical, or any other high-precision field, your tooling needs to be dead-on. Everede’s small boring bars give you the precision you need, in the style your machines can handle—and your parts demand.

You can check out the small boring bar section of the Everede catalog at THIS LINK or get in touch with us and we'll help you find the small boring bar you need.

If you’re looking to get into tight spots with precision, power, and no drama, Everede’s lineup of ANSI boring bars might just be your new best friend in the shop. Whether you're working on small holes, deep bores, or heavy-duty roughing, these tools are built to help you dig deep—and do it right.

Let’s break it down and see what makes Everede’'s ANSI boring bar selection such a solid choice for machinists who want both versatility and reliability.

Boring Bars Built to Go the Distance
Everede isn’t messing around. Their ANSI-standard boring bars cover a massive range, from micro to major. Each series is tailored for a specific type of work, but here’s the quick and dirty:
  • Series A – Ideal for micro-machining and tight bores, getting into holes as small as 0.180".
  • Series B – A solid step up for light roughing and finishing in bores from 0.270" and up.
  • Series C to D – Perfect for general-purpose boring in medium to large diameter applications, up to 1.344".
  • Series E through H – These bars give you great flexibility with boring diameters up to 1.094".
  • Series FL – Spiral flute? Yes, please. Excellent chip evacuation for clean, consistent cuts in deeper bores.
  • Series PB, TH & RCH – Niche bars for specialty cuts and setups—because sometimes your part just has that one weird feature.

Let’s Talk Inserts – Shapes That Get the Job Done
What really brings a boring bar to life? The insert, of course. Everede’s ANSI bars are designed to work with a few go-to insert shapes, and each has its own sweet spot:
  • C-Style (80° Diamond, CCGT/CCMT): This is the all-rounder. Great for finishing or medium roughing. The large corner radius makes it stable and forgiving—perfect for general-purpose boring.
  • D-Style (55° Diamond, DCGT/DCMT): Think tight corners and fine finishes. D-style inserts are great when you need a sharper angle to avoid walls or features. Expect great chip control and excellent surface finish.
  • T-Style (Triangle, TCGT/TCMT): These are tough and aggressive. T-style inserts offer three cutting edges per side and are excellent for more robust applications where material removal is key. Great for cast iron or harder materials.
  • W-Style (Trigon, WCGT/WCMT): Your go-to for maximum insert strength. With a wide cutting edge and beefy geometry, W-style inserts handle interrupted cuts or tough materials like a champ.
Everede matches the bar geometry and pocket depth to the insert style, so everything locks in smooth and performs like a dream.

Getting the Right Reach – Length-to-Diameter Ratios
We all know that going too far without the right support can end in chatter and tool failure. Everede’s got you covered with options that balance reach and rigidity:
  • Steel Shank Bars: Safe up to about 4:1 L:D ratio. Ideal for shorter reach or shallow depth applications.
  • Heavy Metal Shanks: These offer a solid middle ground—typically good for up to 6:1 L:D. The added mass and vibration-damping properties make them great for deeper cuts where chatter can creep in.
  • Carbide Shank Bars: These give you extra backbone—up to 8:1 L:D is possible. Best when you're pushing into deeper bores and need maximum rigidity.

Cool Under Pressure – Standard vs. Coolant-Thru

Running dry or flood coolant? No problem. But when the chips are flying and the heat’s rising, Everede’s coolant-thru options are worth their weight in productivity. Keeping the insert cool helps extend tool life, improves chip evacuation, and keeps your tolerances tight.

Why Everede?
Built in the USA and backed by decades of application knowledge, Everede ANSI boring bars are built to last, easy to index, and just plain reliable. Whether you're running a manual lathe, CNC turning center, or tackling aerospace components, there's a boring bar in the lineup that’ll fit your job.
