Lathe Holders
Canela's Lathe Toolholders are engineered to offer outstanding strength, rigidity, and precision across a wide range of turning applications. Manufactured from high-grade alloy steel (typically AISI 4140 or equivalent), the holders are through-hardened to approximately 40–44 HRC to maintain structural integrity under heavy cutting conditions. Available in shank sizes ranging from 12 mm up to 50 mm (or ½" to 2" in imperial sizing), with overall lengths from 80 mm to over 250 mm depending on model.
Canela holders allow users to select the ideal reach and rigidity balance for their application. The toolholders are fully compatible with ISO-standard inserts—including CNMG, DNMG, TNMG, and WNMG—and feature precision-ground seating surfaces to maximize insert stability and repeatability.
Many models are offered with internal coolant-through capability, directly delivering coolant to the cutting edge to improve chip evacuation, reduce heat generation, and extend insert life, especially when machining high-temperature alloys or stainless steels. |
With a selection that includes external turning, grooving, threading, and profiling holders, Canela lathe toolholders are designed to deliver reliable, high-performance machining even under the most demanding conditions.

Boring Bars
Canela’s Boring Bars are purpose-built for internal turning, boring, and facing applications where dimensional accuracy and vibration control are critical. Available in diameters from 8 mm to 50 mm (approximately 0.315" to 2.000") and overall lengths up to 400 mm, these bars provide excellent reach capabilities with length-to-diameter (L/D) ratios typically up to 6:1 in standard steel models.
For extreme reach applications beyond 6:1 L/D ratios, Canela offers boring bars constructed from heavy metal (tungsten alloy) to minimize deflection and suppress vibration.
For extreme reach applications beyond 6:1 L/D ratios, Canela offers boring bars constructed from heavy metal (tungsten alloy) to minimize deflection and suppress vibration.
Bars are manufactured from high-grade alloy steel (commonly 42CrMo4 or similar) and are through-hardened to 38–42 HRC to ensure rigidity and long-term wear resistance. Coolant-through options are available across a wide range of boring bars, channeling high-pressure coolant directly to the cutting edge to optimize chip evacuation, reduce heat buildup, and significantly improve tool life in deep-hole boring operations. |
These bars accommodate a range of ISO-standard inserts such as CCMT, DCMT, and TCMT, allowing machinists to tailor their boring setups for fine finishing or heavy roughing tasks. Whether machining tight-tolerance bores in hardened materials or achieving high-quality surface finishes in aluminum alloys, Canela boring bars offer dependable performance and flexibility.
Parting & Grooving
Canela's Parting and Grooving tools deliver high-performance solutions for precision machining across a wide range of materials and applications. Their comprehensive lineup includes inserts, toolholders, blades, and boring bars designed for operations from narrow O-ring grooves (starting at 0.8 mm) to heavy-duty parting tasks up to 9.52 mm in width.
Canela offers both CVD and PVD coated carbide grades—such as TL20, TL30, and TL40—for enhanced wear resistance and heat stability, as well as uncoated options like PM25 and KM15 for applications requiring high toughness and thermal crack resistance.
These tools are engineered for versatility, supporting operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and heat-resistant alloys. With optimized chip control, sharp cutting edges, and compatibility with automatic lathes and CNC systems, Canela's parting and grooving solutions ensure reliable performance and superior surface finishes in demanding industrial environments |
